List of Prime Ministers of United kingdom

List of Prime Ministers of United kingdom 2022 – Who Was First PM Of UK – The Prime Minister of the United Kingdom is the Prime Minister of the Crown of His Highness Government and the head of the British Cabinet. There is no specific date for when the prime minister’s office first appeared, as the role was not created but rather developed over a period of time through the merger of duties. However, the term was regular, if informally, used by Walpole in the 1730s. It was used in the House of Commons in early 1805, and it was certainly in parliamentary use until the 1880s. In 1905, the post of Prime Minister was officially recognized in order of precedence. Modern historians generally believe sir Robert Walpole, who led the government of Great Britain for twenty years from 1721, as the first prime minister. By this definition Walpole is also the longest-serving British Prime Minister. However, Sir Henry Campbell-Bannerman was the first and Margaret Thatcher was the longest-serving Prime Minister.
